Wills Park Youth Baseball
(This is an update to a previous posting regarding the requirements of this position.)
The Wills Park Board has an opening for the position of Information Director. This position manages this website, as well as other related issues. Some specific technologies in use:
- iWeb application on the Macintosh platform (Apple Mac OS X).
- scripts that run on the host server that allow for field status updates and the like. Currently the scripts are written in the "perl" programming language, but could be easily replaced with other means, as long as the host server provides support for them.
The ultimate candidate will have working knowledge of the specific tools above in order to keep the current site operating. Although Wills Park hopes to maintain a unique look and functionality that many turn-key systems don't provide, we are also welcoming any candidate that would like to convert the content and functionality of the current site to an equivalent custom system, or use a third party site tool as many other parks do.
Additionally, each board member participates in various functions to support the park such as policing the park during the regular season, interviewing coaching candidates, and voting on changes in how the park is run. The City of Alpharetta will conduct a background check on any potential new board member.
